This First Edition copy of Historical Sketches of the India Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America known as the Lodiana, the Farrukhabad, and the Kolhapur Missions, From the beginning of the work, in 1834 To the time of its fiftieth Anniversary, 1884 was published in 1886 by Allahabad and printed at the Allahabad Mission Press. The book, which measures approximately 5 ½ inches wide by 8 ½ inches tall by ½ inches thick, contains a 6-page Preface, followed by a 4-page introduction (notes and table of contents) to the Historical Sketches, then the 182-page text dealing with all three missions, and finally four Appendices and some statistical information.
The book is hard bound in brown cloth covered boards with gilt lettering. The covers are stained and show wear along all edges, with tearing on several locations on the spine. The pages of the book are lightly tanned, with the first page (title page) detached. The name of a prior owner appears on the front inside cover.
